India World Cup 2019 Team Standbys are named given to Rishabh Pant, Ambati Rayudu. Indian World Cup 2019 Team left out Rishabh Pant and Ambati Rayudu.

On Wednesday starbys is the name given to the Rishabh Pant and Ambati Rayudu, who were excluded from India's 15-member squad for World Cup 2019. Three backups were found by pace bowler Navdeep Saini for the mega-event starting in England and Wales on May 30. On Wednesday a senior BCCI official told PTI, "Just like ICC Champions Trophy, we have three standbys. Rishabh Pant and Ambati Rayuduare the first and second standbys while Saini is the bowler in the list. So if anyone gets injured, as per requirement, one of the three will be going,"

On Monday Squad created a stir for exclusion of Pant and Rayudu's. Gautam Gambhir questioned the snub to Rayudu where as Pant’s omisision was called surprising by  Sunil Gavaskar.

Over the rising 21-year-old star Dinesh Karthik, 33, was given the second wicketkeeper's slot, ending days of speculation over the role.

The purely netbowlers travelling with the team are Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan and Deepak Chahar, they can also be drafted in if the management feels so.

The official said, "Khaleel, Avesh and Deepak are not designated standbys. In case of bowlers, that possibility is there but when it comes purely to batsmen, it will be either Rishabh or Rayudu,".

Behind England India ranked number two in one-day games, they lost to Australia after reaching the semi-finals of the 2015 World Cup.

On June 5 India are scheduled to play their opening World Cup match against South Africa in Southampton.
